Some of you have been asking questions about the news regarding Martino Park. Here is a statement from the City of Hamilton
Hamilton City Council have approved upgrades to the nearby Dundas Wastewater Treatment plant and additional space is needed to accommodate the facility. Specifically, Martino Memorial Park will be inaccessible as part of the upgrade, this is currently where Dundas Little League plays, however, we understand this upgrade work is vital to the area. City staff and Dundas Little League remain committed to working together, in order to find a suitable location, ahead of the scheduled construction, currently set for 2028. We have been meeting with staff and other sport stakeholders to discuss all needs and City staff are working to ensure an as seamless as possible transition for Dundas Little Leaguer’s and their families.
Stay tuned to our website / social / newsletter for more information as the discussions progress. The City appreciates the community’s patience as we work through the project details as they develop.
