2021 Return to Play Initiative

Dear Dundas Little League families,

Dundas Little League’s Board of Directors are very pleased to provide our initial Return to Play breakdown based on the current situation.
All of our plans and protocols are subject to evolving provincial, regional, and health regulations dealing with COVID-19. As we receive
announcements we will be doing our best to alter schedules and our programand update you through the website.

10 Person Training Program
We are planning to commence with the “10 Person Training” sessions on June 21st, 2021. Our Vice President and Convenors are currently sorting out the cohorts and teams based on our current registrations and keeping with the current provincial announcements. You will be notified once your child is placed on a team and then put in contact with your player’s coach.

Refunds and Registration Deadline
June 21st will also be the final day to register fully for the League this year. We need to finalize our numbers to ensure that cohorts can be regulated and the necessary equipment made available. Full registration refunds are available to any family as long as we receive
notice prior to June 21st, 2021 at 9:00 am. After that date, no refunds will be provided UNLESS we are unable to provide any programming at all due to a change in the provincial, regional and/or health guidelines. If you wish to unregister your child please send an email to BOTH our Treasurer([email protected]) and VP ([email protected]).

Insurance Coverage
Please be mindful that as we proceed forward, our Insurance coverage does not indemnify you should your child contract COVID-19 during League operations. Additionally, we will all need to work together at the ballpark to ensure that mandated health protocols are all followed. City audits could result in the Leaguebeing suspended. Tickets or levies issued by the City to any spectator at the ballpark are
the responsibility of the spectator.

Currently, games are not permitted. We are proceeding with a skills based season, but will be prepared to play games when provincial, regional, and health regulations permit. Our plans include a game schedule that will commence on July 5th, 2021 if those approvals are in place. If we can’t commence games by that time, we will simply keep adjusting the start date based on the latest information.

We will be providing an opportunity for anyone interested (registered with the League or not) to meet virtually on WEDNESDAY June 16th, 2021 @7:00 pm. It will be an opportunity to hear the latest updates from us directly. There will be an opportunity to ask questions or seek clarifications on the Return to Play. Please email Robin [email protected] be provided an invite to the meeting.

In keeping with our bylaws and expected COVID regulations, no one is to be on the field with the players except for coaches who have provided their security and volunteer forms to our Safety Officer prior to June 21st, 2021. These are mandatory and no exceptions will be made. Safety comes first. If you intend on being considered for a coaching position, you should contact the Convenor of your division
or our Safety Officerat [email protected] There will also be a mandatory virtual coaches meeting on THURSDAY June 17th, 2021 @ 8:00 pm which will review our most recent Return To Play document and basic coaching expectations. Ideally, we need three coaches for each team. So please consider signing up to be a Coach. A Coach needs to have a basic understanding of the game and a
willingness to share their time; you don’t need to know it all to add value to our League. Please email Robin at [email protected] to be provided an invite to the meeting.

The Great Outdoors
Have some extra time and want to volunteer? We could use your help getting the fields ready. Please contact our Parks Superintendent
Dave at [email protected]

We remain thankful for your continuing patience and understanding throughout this process.
