The Board and Executive have been working steadily through the Winter planning for this season. We have several new and exciting changes, but always with the same commitment to Little League values. If it’s not fun, it’s not Little League.
Our early registration program this year was a huge success. There are still openings, but we are ahead of previous years so if you have not registered please join us before the spots all fill up. Registration helps us to organize for our April 19th and 26th mandatory Evaluation dates.
This year our sponsors will be recognized throughout the season on our fields through the use of banners. The move away from placing the sponsors on the jerseys allows us to order our uniforms earlier in the off-season which is very helpful to the Board. As important, we felt that exposure on the banners would give our sponsors a greater profile and exposure in exchange for the valuable support. If you are looking to be a sponsor or know a company that wishes to do so, please reach out to our sponsorship director Neil Fitzpatrick.
During the off season our Communications Committee under the direction of Rob Emery, Ron Scott, and Shawn Paithouski have worked tirelessly to create a more accessible website. During the season it will be the place to get the most updated information as opposed to emails. The website will be accessible on your devices so that you can get the information you need when you need it. The Website has a built in calendar feature where you can plan ahead for House League, All-Star, and District events.
We still have two key positions to fill: Umpire in Chief and TBall Convenor. If you have been waiting, now is your chance. Join a very small, but dedicated Board that could really use your help. Please consider this great opportunity. More generally, we will be sending out sign up sheets for all families in the league for your volunteer concession booth hours. Families with players on All-Star teams will be responsible for volunteering at all Dundas tournaments. Our league survives on volunteers and it’s one of the ways we can keep registration fees low.
High School Volunteer Hours
We have an entire summer worth of volunteer hour opportunities. If you have a teenager in your household looking to get some hours while they watch their younger sister or brother play ball, let us know and we’ll get them signed up. Every little bit helps.
Save the Date
We are busy planning our Opening Day ceremonies for this year. The plan is for a one stop day that will include team photos; player parade; bagpipes; coaches’ meeting and orientation; and a few other surprises. A fun day at Martino park to launch the 2020 season.
Looking forward to seeing you all in the Spring.
