New DLL Concussion Protocols

Dundas Little League Commitment

The safety and well-being of the players is of utmost importance to us at the Dundas Little League. We will train and provide resources to coaches, players and parents to recognize the seriousness of concussions and how we can properly deal with them.

Please visit our Concussion Protocol and Concussion Management tabs for more information.

Story of Rowan’s Law

Rowan Stringer’s story

Rowan Stringer

Rowan’s Law was named for Rowan Stringer, a high school rugby player from Ottawa, who died in the spring of 2013 from a condition known as second impact syndrome (swelling of the brain caused by a subsequent injury that occurred before a previous injury healed). Rowan is believed to have experienced three concussions over six days while playing rugby. She had a concussion but didn’t know her brain needed time to heal. Neither did her parents, teachers or coaches.

Rowan’s Law and Rowan’s Law Day were established to honour her memory and bring awareness to concussions and concussion safety.

Evaluations 2020

Hello Everyone, and welcome to the 2020 Dundas Little League Season!

Please keep the following dates and times in your calendar:

Evaluations will take place again this year at the Batterzone facility at 100 Ray st. North in Hamilton. They will be split up into 2 days again, Sunday April 19 and Sunday April 26th. They will take place from 8-10am on those days.

Each player will be assigned a time closer to the dates for them to come and be evaluated. These evaluations are used to ensure our teams are balanced and fair, and to let coaches get a view of each of the players. We have a great system in place for those days and we look forward to see you there!

We are planning on hosting 3 tournaments on 2 separate weekends this year. We will be introducing our newly formed Cactus cup tournament for the Minor aged All-stars on the weekend of August 14-16 to coincide with the Cactus Festival in town. On the same weekend, we will be hosting our annual MYKE T-ball tournament for the T-ball all-stars in the area. Lastly, our Major aged All-star tournament, the Fall Classic, is scheduled for Labour Day Weekend, September 4-6. These Tournaments only happen with the dedication from our volunteers, and we could use more of them! ALL HANDS ON DECK for these two weekends. If you are a part of the All-Star family, your participation is required, and for those that aren’t we can still use your help. Please contact dlltournaments@gmail.com if you can help out.

Coaching positions for the 2020 Season

Hello everyone

Back in the summer of 2019 we sent out the applications for 2020 coaches.    We received a wonderful response, but just in case you have just joined up we have spots still available if you are interested in this great experience.

Attached you will find all the information you need to apply for coaching positions for the 2020 Season.   All NEW coaches fill in the 2020 Volunteer Application.   This form will soon be available on our website.   House League Coaches also fill in their specific Application form.   Those wishing to be an All-Star or Select coach have three applications to fill in (Volunteer/House League Coach/All-Star and/or Select).

We are still looking for a Tee-Ball convener and if you have any interest in that position, we will provide you plenty of support in the role.  No experience is necessary.     Please consider applying today.    We can really use your help.

Take care.
